Liverpool VCT, Care & Treatment is a Kenya
non-Governmental, non-for-profit organization that provides technical assistance to government
and partners in strengthening responses to HIV prevention and care. LVCT partners with the National AIDS
Control Council (NACC), the Division of Reproductive Health (DRH) and National AIDS and Sexually Transmitted
Infections Control Programme (NASCOP) in the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation and to strengthen the
scaling up of quality-assured HIV counseling and testing services , treatment and care
programmes, and services to vulnerable groups or groups with special needs : survivors of
sexual violence, the deaf, men who have sex with men (MSM), youth and sex workers.
The
work of LVCT interfaces Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services. This
premised the need to interrogate and strengthen existing linkages in sexual and reproductive health and
HIV/AIDS programmes as these have traditionally been disparate. LVCT in the spirit of building partnerships
is working in collaboration with the DRH and the NACC . The commitment to strengthen RH and HIV/AIDS
interventions is reflected in the Co-Chairing of this conference by:
The Director of the National
AIDS Control Council, Prof. Alloys Orago
The Head of the Division of Reproductive Health, Dr.
Josephine Kibaru
The Director of Liverpool VCT, Care & Treatment, Dr. Nduku
Kilonzo.
