Hosting a Satellite Meeting
Satellites shall be hosted by partners to engage a specific agenda through convening a range of expert partners or interested parties with the aim of engaging conference delegates to be informed, involved or take on the agenda. Satellite meetings are therefore intended for conference delegates and will be fully organized and coordinated by the satellite hosting organisation (private company, government agency, institution or NGO).

The 2008 SV Conference organizers have made satellite slots available for a fee, which is based on the room capacity and the time slot, and will allocate slots based on the conference programme. Satellite meetings have been scheduled from 1600hrs and shall begin on the 29 th of September through to the 1 st of October, 2008. The exact dates and times shall therefore be agreed upon together with the organisers, based on the numbers and types of applications.

The organizers reserve the right to approve or reject any satellite application, with considerations on whether the purpose is related to the SV conference in any way.

All satellite meetings should therefore:

• address issues directly or indirectly related to sexual and reproductive health, highlighting the sexual violence and HIV/AIDS nexus.
• be evaluated by the SV conference organizers on the basis of content, merit, overall quality and organizational plan.

Applying to Host a Satellite Session
Applications for a satellite slot should be made through the Online Satellites page at www.svconference2008.org . Organizations seeking to apply should include in their application, a brief on their organisational work, and details of the intended satellite, including topic, proposed speakers, expected attendance and session description.

• Subject of your email should clearly state that this is an application for a satellite session.

The deadline for applications to host a satellite is 15 th of July, 2008.

All applicants shall have a response regarding the status of their applications on the 1 st of August, 2008.
