The 1st Conference on Strenghtening Linkages between Sexual and Reproductive
Health and HIV/AIDS Services brought together representatives from governments,
non-governemental organisations, private sectors and groups of people with various
vulnerabilities to HIV/AIDS from Eastern, Central and Southern Africa. A total
of 200 delegates were expected. Through oral presentations, dialogue and networking,
conference participants were able to identify best practices, existing gaps
as well as recommnedations in responses to sexual violence and other reproductive
health issues. Close to 300 delegates from 15 countries (with 103 benefiting
from sponsorship), participated in the conference.
